CODE OF CONDUCT- STUDENTS
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS
1. SCHEDULING
1.1. Sessions: Sessions should be scheduled in advance by the student directly with the tutor. It is the responsibility of the student to proactively coordinate and manage their pre-purchased hours to enable academic success. During final exam season, we strongly recommend scheduling sessions well in advance, preferably over two weeks prior to the end of the semester.
1.2. Punctuality: Tutors and students are expected to arrive on time for sessions. If the student anticipates being late and fails to notify their tutor, their assigned tutor is required to wait on ZOOM, Microsoft Teams, or other virtual platform of choice, for the first 15 minutes of the scheduled meeting. After that, the tutor will log off and unfortunately, the student will not receive a refund of their session.
2. CANCELATION
2.1. Cancelation Policy: Cancellations require a minimum of 4 hours' notice to facilitate adjustments and should be communicated by student or student’s parent.
2.2. Notice: Adequate written notice should be communicated to your tutor directly by text message or email. Subsequently, the session will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time.
3. ONLINE ETIQUETTE
3.1 Professionalism: All interactions during and prior to tutoring sessions, whether verbal or written, should be conducted in a professional and respectful manner. Students are expected to dress appropriately and choose a quiet and distraction-free environment for sessions. Further, use of profanities and explicit language is strictly prohibited.
3.2 Technical Preparedness: Students should ensure that their devices, internet connection and necessary software (e.g., ZOOM) are in proper working order before the scheduled session.
3.3 Recording: Recording the tutoring sessions is not permitted. The confidence and privacy of all participants must be respected.
3.4 Academic Integrity: We do not condone or support academic fraud, dishonesty, or misconduct.
4. REMAINING HOURS
4.1 Tracking Hours: Both students and tutors are responsible for accurately tracking the remaining hours available in their tutoring package or agreement.
4.2 Remaining Hours: Any remaining hours can be used in the following ways:
i. Help in any academic subject from tutors who are experts in the field.
ii. Help writing essays for college or scholarship applications.
iii. While no refunds are given under any circumstances, time purchased never expires and can be transferred into the following semester.
5. COMMUNICATIONS
5.1 Open Communications: Students are encouraged to communicate openly about their expectations, learning goals, and any concerns that may arise during the tutoring relationship. Any issues or misunderstandings should be addressed promptly and professionally.
6. COMPLIANCE:
6.1 Acknowledgement: By participating in Tutoring By A College Professor, you acknowledge and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Failure to comply may result in the termination of tutoring services. We appreciate your commitment to creating a positive and enriching learning environment.
